Screening Plagiarism

IJMEAT: International Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Technology is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all published articles.

All manuscripts submitted to IJMEAT may be screened using plagiarism detection software or similarity checking tools before being processed for peer review. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report to determine whether the manuscript meets the journal’s originality standards.

Similarity Policy

Manuscripts submitted to IJMEAT should be original and free from plagiarism. The acceptable similarity index is generally below 25%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used technical terms. However, the editorial team may also evaluate the similarity report qualitatively to identify inappropriate text overlap, duplicate publication, or improper citation.

Types of Plagiarism

The following forms of plagiarism and unethical writing practices are not acceptable:

  • Copying text, figures, tables, or data from other sources without proper citation;
  • Paraphrasing another author’s work without proper acknowledgment;
  • Using parts of previously published work without appropriate citation;
  • Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time;
  • Presenting fabricated, falsified, or manipulated data as original research.

Editorial Action

If plagiarism or excessive similarity is detected, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for revision, rejected before review, or rejected after editorial evaluation. If plagiarism is found after publication, IJMEAT may issue a correction, retraction, or other editorial notice according to the severity of the case.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and comply with the journal’s publication ethics. Authors are encouraged to check the similarity of their manuscripts before submission.
